Terms of service
Effective 2 October 2026
The short version
- Tadly is a habit tracker for one person: you. Use it for yourself, don’t break the law with it, and we’re fine.
- Pro is optional. Web purchases are handled by Paddle; purchases through a supported app store are managed through that store. See the subscription terms below.
- Your habits and notes are yours. Export any time. You can use Tadly as a guest, or contact us to request deletion of an optional account.
- Tadly is a tool for building habits, not medical advice or a medical device.
- We provide Tadly as it is, and our liability is limited as far as the law allows.
- If we change these terms, the date at the top changes, and material changes are announced in the app first.

Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and M.A. Hassan (“we”, “us”) about the Tadly app and web app. By installing or using Tadly you agree to them; if you don’t agree, please don’t use Tadly. Our privacy policy explains how data is handled and is part of these terms.
You need to be at least 13 to use Tadly.
If you got Tadly from Google Play or the App Store, that store’s own terms also apply to the download and to any purchase. Google and Apple aren’t parties to these terms, and they aren’t responsible for Tadly, its content or its support. That’s us.
The service
“Tadly” means the Tadly app for Android and, when it arrives, iPhone; the web app at app.tadly.app; the home-screen widgets; and this website. It is a habit tracker: you create habits, log them, and see honest numbers about how you’re doing.
Tadly works offline. A few optional features need the internet and other people’s services: Google Drive backup uses your Google account, the AI features use an AI provider, and purchases use your app store. Each is described in the privacy policy, and each is yours to use or ignore.
Features marked as beta, preview or coming soon are exactly that. The public roadmap tells you what we intend to build and in what order; its dates are promises in order, not in calendar, and it isn’t a contract.
Your account
You don’t need one. Tadly works completely without signing in, your data lives on your device, and nothing nags you towards an account.
Three optional features do use one: Google Drive backup, and the two Pro features that stand on it, multi-device sync and Google Calendar sync. In every case you sign in to Google — not to us — and Google’s terms govern that account. Signing in creates one record on our side: an account id, your email address, and the dates it was created and last used. You can ask us to delete it at any time, and the rest of Tadly keeps working without it.
Free and Pro
The free version of Tadly is a complete habit tracker, and we’ve committed to keeping it that way: unlimited habits, every habit type and frequency, your full history and progress, text notes and formatting, export and backup, your first eight Areas, and the core customization. Native reminders, app lock and home-screen widgets belong to the Android app; they are not web capabilities. Nothing on the free list is ever moved behind a payment.
Tadly Pro is an optional paid tier that adds depth, scale and convenience: unlimited Areas, multi-device sync, Google Calendar for one-off tasks, larger group journeys, and up to eight images per note on the web. Extra native widget designs, advanced analytics, additional theme packs, backup history and AI assistance are planned additions. Buying Pro gets you the Pro features that exist at the time, and the ones added while your Pro is active.
One thing worth naming rather than leaving you to find it. Multi-device sync and Google Calendar sync were open to everyone while they were new, and they are Pro features now. If you had either switched on without Pro, nothing of yours is lost: your habits stay on each device exactly as they were, the switch keeps your choice, and syncing picks up again by itself the moment Pro is on.
We won’t interrupt you with a paywall while you’re logging a habit, creating one, or opening Today, and we don’t use countdown timers, fake scarcity or pre-ticked upgrades. If you ever see one, it’s a bug — please tell us.
Subscriptions, trials and refunds
- How you pay. In the phone app, Pro is sold through Google Play or the App Store, in the store’s local currency. On the web, it is sold by Paddle, our merchant of record: Paddle takes the payment in your currency, collects any tax and issues the receipt, under its own buyer terms. Either way, we never see your card.
- Plans. Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription, and may also be offered as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the store before you confirm; they can differ by country and change over time, and the store tells you before a subscription price rises.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel in your store’s subscription settings — Google Play or the App Store — or, for a web purchase, from “Manage subscription” on the web app’s Pro page, which opens Paddle’s customer portal. Pro stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for. You won’t be charged again.
- Free trial. The yearly plan comes with a free trial where the store offers it. Its length is always shown on the purchase screen before you buy — it is currently 7 or 14 days, and which one you are offered can vary while we work out the right length. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing; otherwise the subscription starts when the trial does, and the first charge lands when the trial ends.
- Refunds. Because the store takes the payment, refunds follow the store’s policy — Google Play or Apple — and are requested from the store. For a web purchase, Paddle’s refund policy applies and the request goes to Paddle, from the receipt email or the customer portal. We can’t issue store refunds ourselves, but if you’re stuck with either, write to us and we’ll help you find the right place.
- Restoring. A store purchase is tied to your store account: on a new phone, sign in to the same Google Play or App Store account and use “Restore purchases” in the app. A web purchase is tied to the Google account you signed in to Tadly with: sign in with it in any browser and Pro is there, and “Restore a purchase” on the Pro page re-checks with Paddle.
- When Pro ends. If you cancel or a subscription lapses, you keep every free feature and all of your data, including anything you created with Pro features. Only the Pro surfaces switch off. Your history is never withheld.
Acceptable use
Tadly is for tracking your own habits. Please don’t:
- use it to do anything unlawful, or to harm or harass anyone;
- copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app, or remove its notices;
- reverse-engineer or modify it, except where the law lets you regardless of these terms;
- try to bypass Pro entitlements, free allowances or usage limits;
- misuse the AI features — to generate content that is abusive or unlawful, to extract our credentials, or to hammer them with automated requests;
- interfere with the service, the systems behind it, or other people’s use of it.
If shared habits arrive as planned, the same rules apply to what you share, and to how you treat the people you share with.
Your content and data
Everything you put into Tadly — habits, notes, journal entries, settings — is yours. We claim no rights over it. It is stored on your device, and you can export all of it at any time, free, in a standard format. You will never need our permission to leave.
That also means you’re responsible for keeping it safe. We give you the tools — export, optional backup to your own Google Drive, and optional sync — but if a phone is lost without any of them, we can’t recover your data, because we never had it.
If you turn on sync, your habits, journal, areas and journeys are encrypted on your device and stored on our servers in that form so your devices can stay in step. The key is generated on your device and kept in your own Google Drive; we never receive it, and we cannot read what we store. Two consequences follow, and both are yours rather than ours: if you lose access to that Google account you lose the key, and stored data without its key is unreadable by anyone, including us — we cannot recover it for you. Sync is not a backup. Keep an export or a Drive backup as well.
Sync is off until you turn it on, and turning it off stops the device sending anything further. What has already been stored stays until you ask us to remove it or delete your account, as the privacy policy describes.
When you use the AI features, the text you type and your habit names are sent to the AI provider to produce a suggestion, as the privacy policy describes. What comes back is yours to use, edit or discard; it is generated text, it may be wrong, and it isn’t advice.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to make Tadly better, without any obligation to you.
Intellectual property
Tadly — the app, the web app, this website, the name, the ring-and-dot mark, the wordmark, the design and the code — belongs to M.A. Hassan and is protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws. Tadly is built with open-source software, which remains under its own licences.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Tadly on devices you own or control, for your own use, under these terms and the terms of the store you got it from. That is all you need to use it fully. It doesn’t transfer ownership of the app to you, and it doesn’t allow the things listed under acceptable use.
Not medical advice
Tadly is a tool for building habits. It isn’t a medical device, and nothing in it — habits, numbers, reminders, suggestions, AI output — is medical, psychological, nutritional or other professional advice. On Android, the app can read steps, exercise and sleep from Health Connect, only to fill habits you link to them. It never writes to Health Connect. Health data stays on the phone; only the daily number on a linked habit is saved and synced, like any number you log. What it shows you is for your convenience, not interpreted.
If you use Tadly around a health condition, medication, or your mental health, please do so with the guidance of a professional, and don’t change a treatment because of anything the app shows you. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line.
Availability and changes to the service
We’ll keep improving Tadly, which means adding features, changing them, and occasionally removing ones that didn’t earn their place. The one thing we won’t do is move something from free to Pro — see Free and Pro above.
The app runs on your device, so it keeps working even when nothing else does. The parts that depend on other people’s services — Drive backup, AI, purchases — depend on those services being up, and on your connection. The web app and this website depend on hosting. None of it comes with an uptime guarantee.
If we ever had to stop developing or distributing Tadly, we would say so in advance. The app already on your phone would keep working, and export would still be there.
Disclaimers
Tadly is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied — including of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement — and we don’t promise that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will help you form any particular habit.
Two specific notes. Reminders depend on your phone’s operating system, its battery settings and your notification permissions; they can be late or missed, so don’t rely on Tadly for anything where a missed alert could hurt you, such as medication timing. And AI suggestions are generated text — they can be wrong, odd or unsuitable, and you decide what to do with them.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits or lost goodwill, arising from your use of Tadly or your inability to use it — however the claim is framed, and even if we were told it could happen. Our total liability for all claims relating to Tadly is limited to the amount you paid for Tadly Pro in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that can’t be limited or excluded by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under the consumer protection laws that apply where you live. If you’re a consumer, you keep every right those laws give you.
Termination
You can stop using Tadly at any time: export what you want to keep and uninstall the app, or clear the site’s data. Nothing needs cancelling with us — subscriptions are cancelled in your store.
We can suspend or end your licence to use Tadly if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Even then, the data on your device stays yours, and you can still export it. The parts of these terms that by their nature should outlast them — your content, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law — do.
Changes to these terms
We’ll change these terms from time to time — to cover a new feature, or to say something more clearly. The date at the top tells you when they last changed. Material changes are announced in the app’s release notes and on this page before they take effect. If you keep using Tadly after a change, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree with a change, stop using Tadly, and export your data first.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and disputes are heard by the courts there — except that if you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and the right to bring a claim in its courts.
Before anything reaches a court, please write to us. Most disagreements are misunderstandings, and we’d rather fix them than argue about them.
